Teesside International Airport
Teesside International Airport is central to national and international accessibility in the area.
A 10-year business plan seeking to deliver business development, improve access and infrastructure, enhance freight use and links with logistics networks, and increase the number of destinations which can be reached is currently in progress.
Under the business plan, 2 multimillion-pound developments have been delivered: the airport's terminal redevelopment and a freight cargo facility. The freight cargo facility has the latest in screening technology and offer daily services for freight movements as well as supporting ad-hoc charters for specialised cargo.
The airport also has a refuelling station for hydrogen-fuelled commercial and support vehicles, which is part of the Tees Valley Hydrogen Transport Hub.

Community
The community at Teesside International Airport is currently based north of the runway next to the airport terminal building. Long-term businesses include TNT, and Paragon Rapid Technologies Limited. The aviation services and technology firm Draken Europe (formerly Cobham Aviation Services UK) has been here for over 25 years, and they have announced plans to expand operations by constructing a new 5,000 square foot hanger facility to house more aircraft. The International Fire Training Centre, operated by Serco, is also based at the airport and trains firefighters from all over the world. The community is only set to grow with plans for the development of a business park on available land to the southside of the runway.

Plans have been announced for a £200million airport business park on the southside of Teesside International Airport. The new business park is expected to be made up of 1.9 million square foot of logistics, distribution and industrial buildings which will be accessed off the A67. 4 new units will be created along a through road in the first phase covering 130,000 square foot. The units will be planned so that they can be split into up to 10 smaller units. Businesses benefit from streamlined planning processes, a package of tax reliefs including the airport's freeport status to help drive jobs, growth and innovation, and simplified customs procedures and duty suspensions on goods.
