Stockton International Riverside Festival (SIRF) - Taking place over the first weekend in August, SIRF boasts some of the best artists and performers from across the world, bringing magical and exciting performances, stunning visual experiences, daring dance, live music, circus and more, culminating in a carnival parade and spectacular show on Sunday night.

Stockton Sparkles - Stockton-on-Tees' Christmas festival features a packed 4-week programme including the annual Christmas lights switch-on, a launch night full of entertainment, arts and craft workshops, street theatre, choirs, special Sparkles Market and continental markets as well as the much-loved Reindeer Parade.

Eid Fusion Festival - The Eid Fusion Festival in Ropner Park brings together diverse communities in the Borough and the wider region through dance, food and music.

Festival of Thrift - The national celebration of sustainable living. Located in Billingham, you can take the opportunity to swap clothes, fix your broken items and grab some ethical shopping. You can even get to the event in an environmentally-friendly way.

Healthcare

Healthcare in Stockton-on-Tees is provided by various organisations such as the NHS, the Council and the voluntary sector. There are several healthcare facilities in the area such as hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and GP surgeries. For example, the University Hospital of North Tees is a large hospital that offers a range of services including emergency care, surgery, maternity and cancer care. Alternatively the Dovecot Surgery Lawson Street Health Centre is a GP practice that provides primary care services, such as prescriptions, vaccinations, and referrals.

Plans have also been approved for a new community diagnostic centre. The unit, which will be on the waterfront development, will deliver up to 104,000 lifesaving checks and scans a year and will also provide quicker access to tests and treatment.
