Plans have been announced for a £200million airport business park on the southside of Teesside International Airport. The new business park is expected to be made up of 1.9 million square foot of logistics, distribution and industrial buildings which will be accessed off the A67. 4 new units will be created along a through road in the first phase covering 130,000 square foot. The units will be planned so that they can be split into up to 10 smaller units. Businesses benefit from streamlined planning processes, a package of tax reliefs including the airport's freeport status to help drive jobs, growth and innovation, and simplified customs procedures and duty suspensions on goods.
