Green skills support

Whether it's skills you're looking for or handy tools to help you work out your carbon footprint, there's lots of resources available.

Find a bootcamp

There are many courses and bootcamps available to enhance you and your staff members' green skills. Visit the Gov.uk Find a Skills Bootcamp North East webpage to find your nearest session.

Become carbon literate

The Carbon Literacy Project is a unique project that offers one day of training to the Carbon Literacy Standard. Once carbon literate, participants have an instinctive understanding of the carbon impacts of their activities, can make informed choices and, driven by the urgency, act positively to address climate change.

For more information, visit the Carbon Literacy Project website.

Measure your carbon footprint

Visit the Carbon Trust website to calculate your carbon footprint and more. The Carbon Trust was established in 2001 as a collaboration between the government and businesses in the UK. It is a not-for-profit private company limited by guarantee. Its mission is to accelerate the move to a sustainable, low carbon economy. The Carbon Trust does ask that you register with them before you can access their information, but this is a straightforward on-line process.

You can also measure your environmental footprint at the WWF website.

Edinburgh Science also provide the NetZeroToolkit, a free toolkit that allows businesses to focus systematically on reducing their CO2 emissions. By highlighting eight core components of their operations, businesses can identify, measure and strategically eliminate emissions - aiming for Net Zero by 2040. Find out more by visiting the NetZeroToolkit website.

Supply Chain

Visit the UK Business Climate Hub webpage to find out how sustainable products and greener supply chains can benefit your business and the planet.
