Government incentives

The Government are running a number of initiatives to help businesses financially.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme

Domestic and small non-domestic properties may be able to benefit from the government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme. This can give benefits including:

• £7,500 towards the cost and installation of an air source heat pump
• £7,500 towards the cost and installation of a ground source heat pump (including water source heat pumps and those on shared ground loops)
• £5,000 towards the cost and installation of a biomass boiler - only in rural locations and properties that are not connected to the gas grid

Workplace Charging Scheme

The Workplace Charging Scheme can cover up to 75% of the purchase and installation costs of electric vehicle charge points for registered businesses, charities and public sector organisations.

Tees Valley Net Zero

The Tees Valley Net Zero programme offers fully funded consultancy support and up to £2,000 in grant funding for firms, as well as online tools and regular webinars and workshops. It includes expert guidance from Net Zero Advisors and Technical Specialists via online and in-person Net Zero consultations. Firms will also be able to access information 24/7 through a suite of online tools and resources, including access to a new web-based tool that will generate a Carbon Reduction Plan for businesses.

Net Zero Innovate UK

The Net Zero Innovation Portfolio is a £1 billion fund, announced in the Prime Minister's ten point plan for a green industrial revolution to accelerate the commercialisation of low-carbon technologies, systems and business models in power, buildings and industry.

City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements

This is a capital fund for sustainable transport, for example funding for cycling infrastructure. Funding may be available from this fund to support other sustainable transport projects in full or elements of.
