Wilton Engineering moved to Stockton-on-Tees in 2006 and has grown into a successful member of the offshore energy sector supply chain, initially in the oil and gas sector and more recently, offshore wind.

Chief Executive, Bill Scott OBE, told us that establishing the business on the banks of the Tees was a great move for them: "It meant we had direct access to the river, which makes the transporting of goods easy and we've recently bought Haverton Hill Shipyard too, extending our base to 112 acres."

The company has a strong and diverse portfolio of successfully completed projects, including 21 transition pieces - large yellow structures that connect underwater foundations to an offshore wind turbine.

Wilton currently employs around 250 people in wide and varied roles covering engineering design, manufacturing, health and safety, planning, quantity surveying, accounts, construction, project management, inspection, logistics and more.

Bill added: "The area is brimming with talent. The workforce is highly skilled, with qualities in all aspects of the project work. The unique stand out quality, however, is that they all work together as a team from start to finish to create and deliver these masterclass projects."
