AbacusBean is sowing the seeds of success in Stockton-on-Tees.

The accountancy firm was started in November 2018 and has grown from 27 clients on day one to now helping more than 500 businesses with everything accounting-related, both locally and internationally, from Canada to Dubai.

They work with charities too, giving a monthly donation to local organisations including Night Lite CIC (page four), Teesside Hospice, My Sister's Place and many more.

Bev Goodall, founder and Chief Executive of AbacusBean, has received praise in the form of winning Best New Business at the Tees Businesswomen Awards in 2019 and Small Mediumsized Enterprise of the Year in 2021. Bev was also a finalist at Director of the Year at the Institute of Directors Awards in 2021, and recently named the 21st most inspirational business leader on Teesside.

She said: "The company ethos has very much been to look after the team, and in turn they look after the clients.

"We have the best team, everyone working for a common purpose and everyone willing to help each other out.

"In November 2021 we moved into our third premises, the top floor of Infinity House at level Q on Surtees Business Park, to accommodate our growing staff. The Council helped us with the transition and we have a good working relationship with each other.

"Stockton-on-Tees is a great location for us. We have recently started talks with Teesside University and Innovate UK to develop a piece of software which will allow us to provide a product to the finance sector as well as a service."
